THE VASER® SHAPE CELLULITE AND BODY CONTOURING PROCEDURE AT THE LUMEN LASER CENTER: LOSE INCHES LYING DOWN
Non-Invasive Body Contouring
The right curves and contours can turn heads and raise eyebrows. Unfortunately, many of us have areas that we would like reduced. Thanks to VASER Shape, there's a non-surgical solution to smooth and shape your body. By shrinking problem areas, and reducing the appearance of cellulite, each VASER Shape treatment gets you closer to the smooth body you want.
VASER Shape uses ultrasound and massage therapy treatments to warm the targeted problem area and treat the underlying fatty tissue. It even promotes the metabolism and drainage of excess toxins and fats.
How does VASER Shape work?
This non-surgical treatment uses dual head ultrasound technology to break the fat cell walls, releasing the adipose tissue or body fat, which is then metabolized by the body. VASER Shape does not replace diet and exercise, but it is a less invasive alternative to liposuction. Originally discovered in Europe, VASER Shape is now available in the US and has been shown to permanently remove the fat cells treated.
How many treatments do I need?
Everyone is different, but in general most people see a measurable difference after only 1 treatment, but should continue with treatments to obtain optimal results. Clients who want to lose larger volumes may opt for 3 - 5 or more treatment sessions per area. Sessions are scheduled as often as 5 days, 1 week or 2-3 weeks apart. Treatment takes 45-60 minutes with no pain, no downtime, or limitations on your activities.
What kind of results does VASER Shape produce?
VASER Shape will smooth cellulite and may reduce problem areas from 1/2 to 3 inches in circumference after each treatment session.
The VASER SHAPE Experience - What to Expect from a VASER Shape Procedure, and How It Works
VASER Shape offers visible body shaping results in ultrasonic and massage therapy sessions that treats fatty tissue underneath the skin, and reduces the appearance of cellulite and increases local blood circulation.
Ultrasound Diathermy Therapy - Ultrasound diathermy therapy uses two beams of ultrasound energy to warm and treat fatty tissue beneath the skin. This promotes fat cell mobility and encourages the body to metabolize, drain or reabsorb excess fluids. The treatment is delivered using a special concave handpiece that delivers two overlapping beams of ultrasound energy. The practitioner follows the contour of the patient's body, targeting fatty tissue at a specific depth beneath the skin, one to five centimeters below the surface of the skin. Patients feel gentle warming of the skin, accompanied by a feeling similar to a deep tissue massage or hot stone massage.
Heat produced by ultrasound diathermy creates a "micromassage" effect on the fat cells. By warming the connective tissue, redistributing fat and encouraging blood circulation, VASER Shape reduces the appearance of cellulite to slim and smooth your body shape.
Zonal Lymphatic Massage - Zonal lymphatic massage is performed for all VASER Shape patients immediately following ultrasound treatments. This extremely gentle vacuum-assisted massage helps to open the lymph nodes, help the body drain off excess toxins and fats, and increase local blood circulation to the treatment site. The body's lymphatic system helps to remove toxins, excess fluids and waste from the body. It does this by moving unwanted waste particles through the lymph nodes to the blood stream, where these substances can be filtered out of the body.
We will customize your treatment schedule depending on your body type and effect you're hoping to achieve. Typically, a treatment schedule will include one combined ultrasound and massage treatment (20-30 minutes per body area), with a total treatment regimen of three-five weeks. Significant improvement may be seen after the first session. Following the procedure, patients can resume normal activity without pain or downtime.

The lymphatic system helps to filter toxins and bacteria in the body.

Ultrasound diathermy warms the targeted area and treats the underlying fatty tissue.

Zonal massage helps to increase local blood circulation, open the lymph nodes and stimulate the flow of lymphatic fluid throughout the body.

Compare VASER® Shape to Other Non-Invasive Treatment Options (Courtesy of Sound Surgical Technologies, LLC)
VASER Shape isn't the only non-invasive option on the market — but we think it's the best. We've made it easy to compare treatments at a glance.
VASER Shape - A non-invasive, non-surgical technique that uses high-frequency (1MHz) ultrasound waves to warm the targeted area and treat the underlying fatty tissue. The ultrasound waves are administered externally through the skin. VASER Shape is used in conjunction with zonal lymphatic massage to drain away excess toxins and fats from the body.
Pro: Can affect tissues from one to five centimeters under the skin. Provides a comfortable, massage-like treatment to shape the body. Temporarily reduces the appearance of cellulite. Only requires three to five treatments for noticeable results.
Con: New technology has not been widely adopted by cosmetic surgeons throughout the U.S.
Other Ultrasound (UltraShape®, LipoSonix®) - The other major ultrasound body shaping systems deliver lower-frequency ultrasound (.2 MHz) to affect surface-level cellulite. These procedures use short, focused, high-intensity pulses to disrupt fat cells.
Pro: Targets specific areas of fat and disrupts fat cells. Only requires three to five treatments for noticeable results.
Con: Can only affect superficial cellulite (.7-1.5 cm below the skin) in relatively small areas. Lacks a lymphatic massage component. Not cleared for use in the United States.
External Laser (VelaShape®, SmoothShapes®- A non-invasive technique that uses heat generated by laser energy to stimulate collagen in the skin to cause a temporary tightening effect. External laser treatments may include a light therapy component.
Pro: Targets surface-level fat.
Con: This technique typically requires six to ten treatments. Treatments must be administered in short bursts to prevent skin discomfort and damage. Results are unpredictable.
External Radio Frequency (Thermage®, Accent®) - A non-invasive technique that uses heat generated by radio frequency energy to stimulate collagen in the skin to cause a temporary tightening effect.
Pro: Non-invasive skin tightening treatment.
Con: This technique typically requires six to ten treatments. Results are unpredictable.
Cryolipolysis (Cool Sculpting™) - A non-invasive technique that uses two cooling panels to freeze fat cells, causing them to slowly die and be removed from the body.
Pro: Non-invasive body shaping treatment.
Con: Patients report that the treatment is painful during the procedure and continues to cause discomfort post-treatment. Results are unpredictable.
Mesotherapy (LipoDissolve®) - A non-invasive treatment that employs multiple injections of pharmaceutical and homeopathic medications, plant extracts and vitamins into the fat layer to break up fatty tissue.
Pro: May melt away small areas of fat at the point of injection.
Con: There is no scientific or clinical data to suggest that mesotherapy reduces fat volume and this technique is not FDA approved.
