Our primary mission at Lumen is to provide the highest level of medical care to our patients through innovation and compassion. We seek to provide the least invasive option that will allow our patients to get back to normal life right away. We strive for excellence in science and human compassion.
The Lumen Center is a 3000 sq. ft. facility designed as a world class institution for integrative, minimally invasive medicine. We have multiple treatment centers housed in a light filled, contemporary environment located in Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania, approximately 30 minutes outside of Philadelphia.
Sentinel technologies used in our center include: intravascular lasers, subdermal lasers, transdermal lasers, high intensity focused ultrasound, radiofrequency, infrared therapies, and advanced cell-based technologies.
Lumen medical staff is comprised of top registered nurses, certified physician and medical assistants, certified medical laser estheticians, certified technologists and specialized lymphatic massage therapists.

Andrew Kwak (kwäk), MD is the Director of the The Lumen Center. A leading graduate of both Episcopal Academy and Duke University, and a native Philadelphian for more than 30 years, Dr. Kwak received his medical training at Thomas Jefferson University and the University of Pennsylvania, where he specialized in minimally invasive surgery as an interventional radiologist. He was asked to join the faculty at the University of Pennsylvania and founded Penn’s first endovenous laser ablation program in 2002. Dr. Kwak also served on the Penn Center for Human Appearance as an early developer of laser and high frequency focused ultrasound techniques for cosmetic surgical applications. He is an internationally recognized expert in minimally invasive venous and cosmetic surgical techniques, and frequently guest lectures for both the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery and the American College of Phlebology. Dr. Kwak is a consultant on minimally invasive biomedical devices and has served on the advisory panels of several of the largest biotech companies in North America.
